Gnoll Parkrun

Get fit at parkrun!

What is Gnoll parkrun?

Gnoll parkrun is a FREE weekly 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 9:00am in Gnoll Estate Country Park, Fairyland, Neath, SA11 3BS

It is not a race against other runners, but a 5k timed run and it can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan.

It offers an opportunity for all the local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy this beautiful park and get physically active into the bargain.

We want to encourage people to jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE!

How do i take part?

Taking part is easy – just register on the parkrun website  before your first ever parkrun. You only need to do this once! Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there!

A post parkrun coffee is available in The Visitor Centre - please come and join us!

Whether you are a complete novice looking to get yourself started on your own "running journey" or a seasoned athlete wanting to use this as a part of your training schedule, you’re welcome to come along and join us.

How do i find more information?

More information about the run including a full course route is available on the Gnoll Parkrun website

Gnoll Park Junior Parkrun

The Gnoll Country Park Junior Parkrun will start on Sunday 26th of March at 9am.

It's for children aged 4 to 14 of all fitness levels, the course is 2km.

This weekly run will allow children to see the wildlife within the Park with the safety of being in sight of volunteer Marshals.

How do I volunteer?

Many thanks for thinking about volunteering with us.

Volunteering at parkrun should be fun; if you are at all concerned about trying a role please let the local organisers know so they can put your mind at rest.

We have a Volunteer club that rewards anyone who volunteers on 25 different occasions at any of our events (5k or junior series).

Those who reach this milestone can claim a free 25 volunteer t-shirt. Postage and packaging applies.

It's really easy to volunteer and each event manages its own volunteers. This role is often done by a volunteer co-ordinator.

Just follow the simple steps below:

  • If you haven’t already done so, register with parkrun and print out a barcode.
    • Full information on how to register can be found on the parkrun website
  • Update your volunteering options on your personal profile page.
    • Follow the link to "manage my profile". This link can be found in any of our newsletters and in any of your run results emails.
    • Once in Your Links please click email options and opt in (and out) of receiving volunteer appeal emails.
  • Take a look at the Future Roster  and the future roster for Gnoll Junior parkrun

If you like the look of anything, email the address at the top of the page with your full name, your parkrun ID (the number under your barcode) and let us know when you'd like to volunteer.

You can also have a chat with the event team at the run, or even better at coffee afterwards.

Please do not get in touch with parkrun HQ offering to volunteer as they won't be able to register you. This needs to be done by local event teams.
