Gnoll Park Survey

Neath Port Talbot Council is to consider a range of options to enhance the visitor offer at Neath’s historic Gnoll Estate Country Park ensuring it remains a popular and well-loved place to go by locals and visitors from further afield.

And the Council now plans to gather the views of Neath Port Talbot residents on how the Country Park should be enhanced or developed in an appropriate way via an online survey.

The idea is that the Council can make sure any improvements respond to the needs of residents and visitors.

The results of the survey, which asks people what they think of the Country Park’s current offer and what they would and would not like to see there, will be analysed with any feasible proposals then being prioritised for potential delivery subject to funding being sourced.

The Gnoll Estate Country Park now features nearly 219 acres of parkland, a wide variety of listed structures and buildings including formal cascades, a visitor centre with café, public toilets, meeting facilities, a nine hole pitch and putt golf course, extensive walks, ponds and a series of events throughout the year including fun fair rides.

The survey will ask for residents’ views on new ideas such as rowing boats for hire, an outdoor cinema, a new play area, a sculpture trail, a play trail, indoor play facilities, an enhanced offer at the café, an enhanced focus on conservation / environment, more information provided on the history of the site / local area and festivals and other events.

The online survey closes on February 7th, 2020.
